Trade Tools: Products & services showcased at the NAR 2005 Expo |
Many businesses have embraced using personal audio players as an alternative way to reach their audience—whether it’s the press, staff, business partners and the general public—and REALTORS® can join the craze. It’s called "podcasting"—a term crowned 2005 word of the year by the New Oxford American Dictionary. A "podcast" refers to audio files published on the Internet along with a news feed, letting users download the files to a personal audio player (such as an MP3 player) or computer. Radio programs now commonly offer podcasts so listeners can download a particular show to listen to it when time allows.
For REALTORS®, a podcast can be used to promote a listing to the growing number of mobile, tech-savvy consumers who use this medium. Visitors can go to an agent’s Web site to either listen to the narration online or download the file to an MP3 player or PC. They can even subscribe to have podcasts or "propertycasts" sent automatically to their portable device after each update.
REALTOR® Jim Gramata, broker associate at Keller Williams Lincoln Park Realty, uses audio podcasts to market every listing. The podcasts include specific sales and marketing features of the property and they’re featured on his Web site, www.rememberjim.com
Adds Gramata: "I also have a series called "Chicago HOMEBUZZ" which is an audio-recorded program of various themes including market statistics, new listings, and general market information."

Podcasting is the latest in on-the-go, on-demand technology. With podcasting, you can listen to radio programs, news and market statistics whenever and wherever you choose. Podcasts are MP3 audio files that are automatically downloaded to your personal computer, and then transferred to an iPod or other MP3 player using a podcasting application like iTunes .
I have a website called CHICAGOHOMEBUZZ.com which is an audio recorded program you can listen here to a sample recording or by visiting our weblog here, or you can visit the RSS site here for instant notification of news, podcast publications and market statistics the minute we post them, or you can listen or subscribe to our podcasts on iTunes here and get free updates of my podcasts as they become available (see instructions below).
If you want to download directly to your computer, look at the bottom of this page under the podcasts headlines title is a live feed into my RSS site with a brief description of each podcast (and blog) I have posted to date. Simply click on Download Podcast under the topic of interest and you will get a copy of my podcast.
You can download all of these podcasts to your mp3/ipod and listen as you drive by the property. Then give me a call and I will get you an appointment to take a look inside and hopefully we will have a win-win and you and the home sellers will come to a negotiated agreement.
If you can't find your answer or you would like to be notified when this service is available, give me a call at 773.252.HOME or email me and I will be glad to help you.
Regards,
